Artist Model: Antonia Perricone
I’ve followed @antonia.perricone on Instagram for a while now and I am constantly inspired by her mark making. Sometimes it is one stroke of the brush, other times it is layers on layers of defined, drawn mark-making. She works in the abstraction space but I’m interested in taking this into a figurative space.
I love her freedom of movement and layering of marks.
The desire to create my own free-flowing marks lead me to choose the RAGE thumbnail to develop although on review with my tutor Sarah it became evident it’s not translating as rage. So I’m going to use Antonia’s work here as inspiration and begin again with small thumbnail sketches and this time add in layering of mark making.
I also believe that ability to smudge/erase/work over is essential so I will consider other materials over graphite pencil.
