Oh Heeeyyyy!!

Yep this is me! I’m a recovering procrastinator and perfectionist who NEEDS the joy and freedom that creativity brings into my life! It’s truly daily medication for me, and I will start spiralling if I go without too long.

I’m inspired by texture, colour, honesty, stories, love, joy, emotion, and play.

Collaborative, intuitive, playful and evocative abstract art is my thing. My art practice is a rebellion against perfectionism and the stresses and monotony of motherhood.

Painting and drawing with my children has been a great practice for me as it encourages me to let go of the end result. I also truly find joy in the process, as well as a great way to connect with my kids on a different level (stay tuned for news on how I’ll be doing this with other people and their kids!).

Accomplishments include completing a Diploma of Arts (Visual Arts) at Charles Darwin University in 2022, holding a solo show Territory Portraits at Darwin Visual Arts in 2022, and being a part of the 2020 and 2018 Portrait of a Senior Territorian exhibitions.

I am a kiwi, married to a true Aussie bloke, and we have two young girls.

We recently moved from Darwin in the Northern Territory of Australia, to Yeppoon on the central Queensland coast.

A beautiful balance of colour + form, Jess’ artwork creates a platform for many to relate to, embrace + enjoy.
