I am exploring the portrait... what is it that makes a portrait beyond a simple physical resemblance – which after all, can be caught in a photograph. This series of works is of my husband in his role as father to our two young girls. As a full-time wheelchair user he can be set apart as different and some people may think he is not capable of being a great dad… I hope this series of works will change people’s attitude.

Inspiration struck on reflection of my recent visit to the NATSIAA 2022 exhibition at MAGNT, and Joanna del Nido’s A Literal Translation at Tactile Arts.
