2024. New Year. Inspiration.
There’s a few artists that I keep coming back to time and time again. Danny Gretscher is one of those artists. Whenever Pinterest delivers me one of his paintings in my feed it stops me in my tracks and fires that well of inspiration within.

His paintings have a joyful child-like energy that I adore, the abstraction, contrasting line work, the awkward text, the bright colour palettes subdued by large swathes of white, contrasting textures, all combining in a beautifully balanced and dynamic compositions.
“I think real artists are channels to allow the energy of the universe to transform into arts, music or poems. The more open you are to that energy the more the energy flows and that’s where the magic happens. It’s about what you feel. So my process is very intuitive. I mostly just start painting and see how it goes. The painting itself tells me what it wants to be. I just have to listen to it.”
