Adobe Illustrator Process Notes - Drawing Intensive

Brushes:

SG Crayon Brushes: Pattern brush 2 - used in 3.4 also for thin pencil lines resulting in hand drawn feel.

Linocut Illustrator Brushes: Linocut Texture Fill 5 (5 strokes to one line)

Textures:

The reason I’m fighting with Adobe to get out of a year-long membership (don’t accept the free trial!) - the beautiful vintage paper I originally used in semester 1 for my Sélélé piece. Image name: AdobeStock_49010870

I found this tutorial really helpful at end of semester 2, I rediscovered it when looking for inspiration during 3.4. I had previously downloaded the free textures offered and tried using these but ultimately went with the Illustrator textures of sponge and grain and the vintage paper.

Font:

I was looking for an authentic handwritten font and found Amalfi Coast on dafont.com

I’m really happy with the result, it has a vintage look with nice flourishes. Note that the font is only for personal use, can’t use it for commercial work.
